Title: Daring the Moon
Author: Sherrill Quinn
Publisher: Kensington Brava
Published: 2009
Pages: 245
Genre: Paranormal Romance/Werewolf
While not her first book, this is Sherrill Quinn's debut novel with publisher Kensington Brava. The Brava line is Kensington's hotter, steamier, romance novels, classified as erotic/sensual romance. Lori Foster and Lucy Monroe are just a couple of the authors that write for this line.
Daring the Moon is an evocative story that will have you on a roller coaster ride of emotions - passion that will scorch you - and suspense that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. It is a fast-paced book that draws you in from the first paragraph to the last. Sherrill Quinn's werewolves give a new twist to the old legends. Her writing is deliciously descriptive and her characters are engaging.
I wrote a brief description of the story on my Mailbox Monday post - here.
Ryder is a tortured soul and you just want to reach out and take away his pain and suffering. However, when his loved ones are threatened - he is all alpha - ready to protect them with his life. Taite is a strong character also. Her investigative skills are legendary, yet the evil that follows her has her terrified. There is a vulnerability to her that makes Ryder want to protect her, yet her stubborn streak definitely keeps him in line. She is brave in the face of danger, yet she doesn't overshadow the strength and determination in Ryder. Then there is Declan, a secondary character in the book, who is compassionate, dedicated, and an alpha himself. We get enough of a background and a picture of who is to keep us intrigued until his story comes out in the next book!
Can you tell I loved this book? LOL. It is definitely on my reread shelf for those nights that I want to curl up in a blanket and get lost in a world of intrigue, breathtaking passion, and yummy alpha werewolves.
